This sermon is the second part of the series Even More Glorious
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14 (NKJV)
Apostle John begins the gospel with the revelation of the glory of God, and there are miracles mentioned that add to the witness, where the glory of God was manifested among the people.
Fourth Miracle that manifested the Glory of God
New Covenant: Healing of 38 years long infirmity – (John 5: 1-15)
-
- Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity of thirty-eight years.
- Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”
9. And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.
John 5:5,8-9 (NKJV)
There was a man with an infirmity for 38 years. He was in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches along with a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. According to the custom, an Angel of the Lord would come and stir up the pool. But Jesus came one day and broke the custom and released an even more glorious miracle on this paralyzed man, releasing him from the judgement of his sin, from his infirmity once and for all.
Old Covenant: 38 Years of Judgement (Deuteronomy 2:14)
And the time we took to come from Kadesh Barnea until we crossed over the Valley of the Zered was thirty-eight years, until all the generation of the men of war was consumed from the midst of the camp, just as the Lord had sworn to them.
Deuteronomy 2:14 (NKJV)
In Old Covenant, we see the number 38 as the 38 prolonged years of disobedience in the people of Israel, and God was judging them. When man sinned, God took a decision that they would not enter the promised land where their healing was present because God had liberated them from Egypt under the leadership of Moses, saw and experienced the glory of God but 38 years they were wandering in the wilderness because of their unbelief and murmuring.
But the King of Glory in the new covenant approached this person who has been judged by God for the last 38 years, moving with compassion, love, and forgiveness, he healed him and brought him out of the bondage.
The Glorious Ministry of the Holy Spirit in the New Covenant
- It is the ministry of impartation of Righteousness
7. Even the ministry that was characterized by chiseled letters on stone tablets came with a dazzling measure of glory, though it produced death. The Israelites could not bear to gaze on the glowing face of Moses because of the radiant splendor shining from his countenance—a glory destined to fade away.
8. Yet how much more radiant is this new and glorious ministry of the Spirit that shines from us! 9 For if the former ministry of condemnation was ushered in with a measure of glory, how much more does the ministry that imparts righteousness far excel in glory.
9. What once was glorious no longer holds any glory because of the increasingly greater glory that has replaced it.
2 Corinthians 3:7-10 (TPT)
In the Old Covenant, the glory of the Lord would manifest through people, and Moses was the carrier of that wonderful glory of God. When we come to the new covenant, it mentions about the even more glorious work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the born-again believers. When the Old covenant dazzling glory brought judgement and death, the new covenant ministry imparted righteousness that excelled in glory. the old law of condemnation and death has been replaced by the glorious ministry of the Holy Spirit Lord.
2. It is the unfading ministry of permanent impartation of Glory
The fading ministry came with a portion of glory, but now we embrace the unfading ministry of a permanent impartation of glory.
2 Corinthians 3:11 (TPT)
The New covenant ministry is an unfading ministry. This unfading ministry not only imparts righteousness but it is a permanent impartation of God's glory. The ministry of a person who is continuing in the revelation of the new covenant ministry will never fail.
-
-
- Now is the time for us to progress beyond the basic message of Christ and advance into perfection. The foundation has already been laid for us to build upon: turning away from our dead works to embrace faith in God,
- teaching about different baptisms, impartation by the laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
- So with God’s enablement we will move on to deeper truths.
-
Hebrews 2:1-3 (TPT)
The glorious ministry of the Holy Spirit takes a person away from the dead works of the law that brings condemnation and judgement and takes him to move onto deeper truths of the ministry of the new covenant. These revelations will enable a person to walk with Jesus constantly with an unfading glory of God.
3. There will be an acceleration of blessings
“Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” GOD’s Decree. “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings!
Amos 9:13 (MSG)
For the Lord will act and carry out his word on the earth, and waste no time to accomplish it!
Romans 9:28 (TPT)
When the King of Glory walks into the any situation, the timings of the Lord will activate in our lives and things will happen at once. It will be blessings upon blessings which none can comprehend will be released upon lives.
Fifth Miracle that manifested the Glory of God
New Covenant: Jesus walking on water – (John 6: 16-21)
-
- The disciples had rowed about halfway across the lake when all of a sudden, they caught sight of Jesus walking on top of the waves, coming toward them. The disciples panicked,
- but Jesus called out to them, “Don’t be afraid. You know who I am.”
John 6:19-20 (TPT)
This is a supernatural miracle mentioned in the bible about Jesus walking on top of the water. All his disciples saw him and panicked they had not seen anyone walking on water.
Old Covenant: walking on a land (Exodus 14)
But the children of Israel had walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
Exodus 14:29 (NKJV)
The Israelites, after getting liberated from the Egypt, had to face a great challenge in the form of a Red Sea. There the power and the glory of God dried up the Sea and they walked out supernaturally.
1. Overcoming impossibilities
3. He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters, who makes the clouds His chariot, who walks on the wings of the wind,
4. who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire.
Psalms 104:3-4 (NKJV)
The above verse talks about that same power and the glory of God that has the ability to do supernatural. When Jesus walked on the high tides of the ocean, he was overcoming every impossibility that was trying to hinder his ministry and manifested the power and the fire of the Holy Spirit God.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.
Isaiah 43:2 (NKJV)
The hindrances that challenge to drown like water or burn into ashes like a fire will not overpower a child of God because of the Holy Spirit God living inside us. And if the devil is trying to drown as Hebrews 11:29 says the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.
2. Unclean Spirits will get defeated in itself
And at once Jesus gave them permission. Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine (there were about two thousand); and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and drowned in the sea.
Mark 5:13 (NKJV)
When we come into the New Covenant, we see that the hindrances, the demonic and the unclean spirits will drown itself because of the power of the Holy Spirit. The spirit of laziness, the spirit of alcoholism, and such kinds of demonic strongholds will get destroyed by itself because of the even more glorious realm of God in our lives.
For the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and give your enemies over to you; therefore, your camp shall be holy, that He may see no unclean thing among you, and turn away from you.
Deuteronomy 23:14 (NKJV)
3. The Future Glory of Zion will be released
8. A highway shall be there, and a road, and it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, shall not go astray.
9. No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it; It shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk there,
10. And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Isaiah 35:8-10 (NKJV)
The power of the revelation of the even more glorious realm will release these promises from the Word of God to be a glorious life.
Conclusion
The glorious ministry of the Holy Spirit opens our eyes of understanding to live a life in the even more glorious realm. There is no failure, there is no demonic oppressions, there is no prolonged bondages or illness, because the Holy Spirit Lord releases the abundance, the perfection, and the beauty of the glory realm of God.
