Introduction – Supernatural Soul Healing

But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing.

Luke 9:11 (NKJV)

Jesus always held large gatherings and a large multitude of people followed Him everywhere. When we study the Bible, Jesus’ ministry revealed the following -

    • Jesus received the people
    • He preached the Kingdom of God
    • He healed all those in need of healing

Many Bible commentators claim that Jesus’ healing session for families lasted longer than a day because He realised that as people age in this world, their souls also begin to deteriorate in addition to their physical bodies – the very reason why soul needs healing. In this passage, we see that Lord Jesus received the people as they followed him and preached the Kingdom of God, and the outcome was supernatural soul healing.

Need for Soul Healing

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

3 John 1:2 (NKJV)

Soul healing is essential to be free from illness. The Bible says that Jesus Christ took away all our illness on the Cross and has already set us free, so sickness is not from God. And as we examine the Bible further, we see that the underlying causes of sickness are sin and emotional brokenness.

A person usually experiences emotional brokenness between the ages of 2.5 and 3. During this early stage, the baby will begin to miss its parents and experience a sense of loneliness, for which it will not be able to express itself verbally. Instead, the baby will act out in rebellion, such as crying aloud without a cause. This hurt emotions result in brokenness and loss of joy. The underlying brokenness is manifested in the form of negative conduct or even physical illness. The reason for physical illness in majority of adults is linked to their souls. Therefore, it is necessary to heal and mend souls.

How can our Souls be Healed?

The Word of God says that Jesus received them and spoke to them about the Kingdom of God. A supernatural layer of protection and healing surrounds those who draws near to Jesus, understands the Kingdom of God, and lives in it, where their souls will not be broken. Anyone inside the Kingdom of God will not be impacted by the external events because they will experience supernatural protection and healing. In other words, the healing power of Lord Jesus Christ is translated into our souls in the Kingdom of God.

A) Being Translated into the Kingdom of God

During Jesus’ time on earth, He preached only one message - the Kingdom of God.

He has rescued us completely from the tyrannical rule of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom realm of his beloved Son. For in the Son, all our sins are cancelled and we have the release of redemption through his very blood.

Colossians 1:13-14 (TPT)

Apostle Paul says God has rescued us completely from the kingdom of darkness and He has translated us into the Kingdom of God. He has not just placed is in the kingdom realm; rather He has translated us, it means we will know the Kingdom language and the Kingdom of God will know our language. It also implies that God will convey His emotions to us – we will experience God’s feelings. God’s emotions are Love, Joy, and Peace because the Word of God says in Revelations 21:4 that God shall wipe away all tears; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain. Our lifestyle becomes the lifestyle of the Kingdom. The unconditional, unending, and supernatural love of Jesus Christ will manifest a kingdom lifestyle in our lives and heal all our emotional brokenness.

B) Serving God with reverence, Worship, and Godly Fear

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.

Hebrews 12:28 (NKJV)

One of the primary reasons we are not completely translated into the Kingdom of God is because we do not understand the reverence, fear, and beauty of serving God.

According to the Word of God, three things will enable us to completely translate into the Kingdom of God:

    • An acceptable worship
    • Reverence towards God
    • An awe or Godly fear

Living in the Kingdom of God does not entail going to heaven. The book of Ephesians states that we are already seated in the heavenly realms. Living in the Kingdom of God means living in the fullness of God’s Glory and manifesting Christ Jesus while we are on earth.

And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

Matthew 10:7-8 (NKJV)

Lord Jesus says that the Kingdom of God is healing from sickness – most importantly, healing of the soul, which is the soul of all illness. Jesus also says preach the Kingdom of God, and heal, cleanse, raise dead and cast out demons.

C) Right Standing with God will prevent us from being Emotionally Broken

Demonic spirits are often the cause of emotional brokenness. There is no pain or sorrow in the Kingdom of God. When our soul is broken we can never operate in the emotions of the Kingdom of God.

for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.

Romans 14:17-18 (NKJV)

The Word of the Lord again says that the Kingdom of God is righteousness. Righteousness means right standing with God. To have a right standing with God, one must cooperate with the Holy Spirit in the Godly Kingdom.

When we watch a cricket match, the lead batsman and the runner are the two individuals on the pitch who are running. If the runner does not run, a run out may occur even though the batsman plays brilliantly. The same holds true in our Christian life as well. Jesus has paid the price and won the battle for us. He is like a batsman, who wants to work with us, heal us, transform our lives, and take away any loneliness and discouragement. Jesus wants to empower us and make us successful, but in order to do so, we must cooperate with the Holy Spirit. However, we will be exhausted (run out) in our Christian race if we are complacent and satiated by the Word of God to the point where we are unable to cooperate with the Holy Spirit to experience the realms of the Kingdom of God in our lives.

We must cooperate with King Jesus and live. It is not simple because we cannot do as we please when we are with the King. King indicates that he himself is the law. To have a right standing with God, what Jesus says should be the rule in our lives. In the new covenant, the most significant commandment that Jesus gave us is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:30).

This is what makes the Kingdom of God so beautiful. In other words, you should understand that you are most precious, loved, and taken care by Jesus. Understanding the extent of Jesus’ love in the Kingdom of God will heal our soul. If this understanding exists, we cannot allow our souls to be hurt.

D) Unrighteousness - hindrance to entering the Kingdom of God

Surely you must know that people who practice evil cannot possess God’s kingdom realm. Stop being deceived!  People who continue to engage in sexual immorality, idolatry, adultery, sexual perversion, homosexuality, fraud, greed, drunkenness, verbal abuse, or extortion—these will not inherit God’s kingdom realm.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (TPT)

The Bible says that we cannot enter into the Kingdom realm if we are unrighteous, that is, if we do not have a right standing with God. Since the blood of Jesus has already made us righteous, the church must put a hedge over our lives to ensure we never become unrighteous. We have to protect ourselves from all acts of unrighteousness to operate in the Kingdom realm. God has therefore given us the freedom to choose how best we can safeguard our spiritual lives.

When unrighteousness enters our lives, it brings with it brokenness, loneliness and all kinds of emotional distortions into our lives. And with this, the person will experience guilt and condemnation and turn away from the presence of God.

Blessings in the Kingdom of God

a) Blessings and Godly inheritances will be passed onto our generations.

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations.

Psalms 145:13 (NKJV)

One of the blessings of living in the Kingdom of God is that our God is a God of generations. The Bible says, “He is the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” And when we understand and live in the Kingdom of God, not only will we inherit the blessings and emotions of the Kingdom of God, but our generations will also inherit and experience it. We will be in God’s righteousness if we are in the Kingdom of God. Furthermore, God promises to provide us everything we need when we pursue these two.

b) Sickness shall not come into our lives

and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”

Exodus 15:26 (NKJV)

c) We will be restored and all the wounds will be healed

For I will restore health to you, and heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord

Jeremiah 30:17 (NKJV)

Having a right standing with God will encourage us to seek the Kingdom of God more and more. It will keep us away from all diseases, and restore us and heal all our wounds, because God is a God who will heal us.

When do we need Soul healing?

There are two ways to identify that we need an emotional healing:

    • Constant variations in emotion or mood swings
    • Character change

We must recognise that we need soul healing if our emotions fluctuate excessively, if they have an impact on our character and if they cause relationships to suffer. God is powerful enough to grant us the healing of our soul. The realization that we have the love of Jesus Christ in us will help us conquer any emotional challenge we face.

Concluding Prayer

Dear Jesus,

We receive this revelation about the Kingdom of God and how to live in it so that we can be true to our commitments, positions, and covenants with you. We admit that we have strayed from the path, and we desire to return to the blessings of the Kingdom realm and experience the emotions of the Kingdom of God.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen
