Introduction – Worship
July is the Month of Worship at the same time, the Holy Spirit revealed that July is the month of Miracles. Our Worship will release miracles into our lives.
Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.
John 9:31 (NKJV)
The Bible says God does not listen to the prayers of the sinners but if we are a worshipper and if we do the Will of God, He shall answer us. Whatever our situations may be, the Bible says, the name of our God is miracle worker, and when we create an atmosphere of worship in our lives, God will answer our prayers and miracles will be released into our lives.
A. Worship in the Heavenly Realms
a) We Praise the Lord by singing
The first step to entering into heavenly worship is to praise the Lord. The Word of God says that we are not of ourselves, we are God’s people and the sheep of His pasture.
Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you land! Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing.
Psalms 100:1-2 (NKJV)
Make joyful praises to God, singing adoration unto Him. In the Church, Jesus Christ is the Chief Shepherd and we are all the sheep of His pasture. This realization generates joyful shouts from our hearts and we sing praises to God.
b) We enter into His presence with Thanksgiving in our hearts
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
Psalms 100:4 (NKJV)
Like a sheep needs assistance to enter into its fold, we open the gates into His magnificent presence with thanksgiving in our hearts with worship and with praise. We render praises to Him by worshipping and remembering all the wonderful blessings and countless miracles that God has done in our lives. We are created for worship and worship brings the presence of God. So, every time we come into the presence, we are bringing into remembrance what God has done in our lives. The moment we say thank you for all the good things that the Lord has done in our lives, the realm of His presence opens up in our lives.
B. True Worshippers
a) Are intimate with God
Making loud noise is not the power of our worship, but it is our heart when we are focusing on Lord Jesus Christ and when there is a deep intimacy with Jesus where our hearts cannot be plugged out from the union of the heart of Jesus, that is when it is called a real worship. It does not matter if we are singing in pitch perfection, but if our heart is full of loyalty, full of attachment, and full of faithfulness towards the Almighty God, we become true worshippers in the eyes of God.
b) Will worship God in Spirit and in Truth
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
John 4:24 (NKJV)
When Jesus was in this world, He told a great mystery saying ‘A time is coming when true worshipers will worship God in spirit and truth.” Not on hills, not in other places, which means it is no more an outward worship.
In Joshua chapter 6, we read about one of the greatest proven miracles of the power of worship. Interestingly, that worship was silent worship. Seven times they were instructed by God to walk around the Jericho wall, where six times they are marching with absolute silence, and on the seventh time, they worshipped. But God counted it as the greatest worship that they ever had. In true worship, the power of God is not released based on what we are doing outside, it is purely based on whether we are worshipping God in spirit and in truth.
c) Will Worship in the Revelation of Truth
Jesus Christ is having a conversation with the Samaritan woman, who has no understanding of presence or revelation. She had a very bad past and people looked at her and treated her with that perspective. But when Jesus saw her, Jesus did not see her life’s current fact, but He revealed truth into her life saying if she worships in spirit and in truth, the revelation of truth will come in her life and the truth of her life which is in Christ Jesus will be manifested in her life. Jesus brings to attention the revelation of His presence in her life which is going to make the difference. For that, she should be worshiping in the realms of the Holy Spirit and in truth.
Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
Isaiah 53:4 (NKJV)
who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed
1 Peter 2:24 (NKJV)
The Bible speaks to us through all these verses that Jesus has already carried our sorrows and we are healed. The facts of the current life can be different, but this is the truth in Jesus. We are not called to just have Faith in Jesus but we are called to have the Faith of the Son of God. Faith of the Son of God is already believing what God has established in eternity. In eternity, we are already healed. We are not believing in a healing but we have already believed and got healed in Jesus.
This is the true worship that Jesus was telling the Samaritan woman. Worship is the understanding of the revelation of the truth of the Word of God and offering that worship in the realm of the Holy Spirit. That is when our hearts will be focused on Jesus.
d) Will Worship Remembering What God has done.
The beautiful thing about the conversation between God and the Israelites is that every time they wanted a miracle, God asked them to remember what God has done in their life. Every time they remembered; their faith went up. And it released miracles for them.
C. Worship in the Revelation of Truth of the Word of God and in the Realm of the Holy Spirit
a. Guarantees freedom from all the barriers and limitations in our lives
Many times, we are limited in many areas of life, but in such situations, the revelation of Worship will break the barriers, and take us to the potential that God has released in our lives. King David was in the jungle fully limited. His father and his brothers had no value for him. No one wanted him. But in the jungle when he is all alone, he is a worshipper. And his worship broke his limitations and elevated him to the purpose of God.
b. Worship releases blessings in our lives.
Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us.
Psalms 67:5-6 (NKJV)
Worship breaks the curses and releases blessings on us. A worshipper will always be blessed. When we worship in the revelation of truth, we will realize that we are beloved sons and daughters of God. Revelation worship is seeing ourselves as how God sees us in His plans. When Jesus came into the perfect will of God, it was an action of worship, which opened t heavens and God expressed the truth about Jesus and called Him Beloved Son. There might be many situations in our lives that stand as a fact but the truth is, we are already blessed because we are the beloved Children of God. Revelation worship takes us into this life.
c. Worship takes us from Pressure to Pleasure
Worship takes us from the pressure of life to pleasure in the presence of God. In our life, we feel pressure sometimes. There is financial pressure, and family pressure, for working professionals there is project deadline pressure, for children there is educational pressure. But worship takes us from the pressure of disappointments and failures to the pleasure of seeing victory in our lives. Normally, the word pleasure is used for a physical relationship between husband and wife. The same Hebrew word is used for the communion between man and God. That is why Jesus daringly called us his beloved bride.
d. Worship releases freedom from every oppression.
The Worship that happened in Judges 6 around the Jericho Wall ceased all the oppressions. Till that day, the Israelites had to face many oppressions but worship demolished all oppressions. When we have the Revelation of truth, we are not oppressed people. We are people carrying authority over the oppressor. To any spirit of oppression that has the potential to bind us up, Apostle Paul writes that we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus who strengthens us.
e. Worship liberates us from Fear
Worship frees us from every fear. When there is worship, we have strength and boldness in Christ. When we worship, we become intimate with God. In His presence, the Love of God will flow in a greater measure and it will drive out every fear from our lives
f. Worship releases us from every barrenness and releases fruitfulness.
Worship in the revelation of truth removes barrenness from our lives. In any area of our life, whether it is in office, business, or in our spiritual life, if there is no fruit, then there is barrenness. But the Lord says worship will release fruitfulness into our lives.
g. Worship releases us from stagnation and causes us to flourish.
The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Psalms 92:12 (NKJV)
Worship will help us flourish in life. Flourishing means we will be covered with the abundance of God's blessings in every area of our lives.
h. Worship releases healing and health
The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, and a good report makes the bones healthy.
Proverbs 15:30 (NKJV)
The light of eyes is the revelation of truth. When we have the revelation of truth, our hearts will rejoice. We will be full of joy. And when our hearts are full of joy, the Bible says it will make our bones healthy. If we can be a worshipper, healing will happen in Jesus’ name.
Concluding Prayer
Lord Jesus, this month we are preparing ourselves to worship in the revelation of the truth and in the realm of the Holy Spirit. We will keep on worshipping, even when the circumstances and the facts speak differently because we know that the truth of our Lord Jesus Christ will breakthrough for us and you will answer our prayers. Thank you, Jesus, for always being the same yesterday, today, and forever.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.
