Introduction – Love of God

June is a month of Love according to our calendars and this month; God wants to reveal His love to each and every one of us. In His love, there is everything that a human being needs. God does not desire a ritualistic relationship with anyone of us, but He wants to reveal His fullness in our lives. When we know the love of God, the fullness of God can be given in our life.

“ …that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

Ephesians 3:17-19 (NKJV)

When God says that we shall know the fullness of His love, it means we will understand the height, depth, length, and width of the love of the Lord Jesus Christ.

God’s Love - The Greatest of All

Interestingly, God created everything needed for man except for one thing which human beings are really in need of that is Love. And this love is not something we can buy or keep as we like. The word of God says:

Many waters cannot quench love, nor can the floods drown it. If a man would give for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly despised

Song of Solomon 8:7 (NKJV)

This means that nothing of this world, nothing which God created nor nothing that man has earned can ever satisfy or equal love. Many people set expectations that they cannot be loved more than what they have experienced till now. But the Bible says that Jesus loves us so much and He wants to lavish His love and wants to make us understand the height, depth, width, and length of God's love.

God’s Love – Endures all things

“…bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

1 Corinthians 13:7 (NKJV)

Love endures all things means love is key for us to endure any situation that we are in. Life is not the same always. Life has ups and downs. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes that there are seasons. Sometimes in life, we smile and we laugh. Sometimes we have to cry and weep because we go through terrible pains and storms in our life. Life goes through seasons. What the Bible says is that if we have love in us, we will be able to endure any kind of situation. This love is not human love but the love that Apostle Paul talks about in the book of Ephesians which gets perfected by living in union with Jesus Christ. If we desire and pray, God will open the eyes of our understanding and release the fullness of God in us.

God’s Love - made known to all

“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”

1 John 4:10 (NKJV)

The love of God started manifesting in an explicit form when Jesus came into this world. Jesus came as a propitiation for our sins. The more and more we know Jesus, the more and more we will know the love of God. The less we know Jesus the less we will know the love of God.

Constant Use of Faith makes our life the resting place of God’s Love

Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of his love will become the very source and root of your life. Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences—the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is his love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!

Ephesians 3:17-19 (TPT)

Apostle Paul is writing that we have to constantly use our faith so that first, the life of Jesus will be released inside us, and our life has to be the resting place of His love, and His love becomes the very source and the root of our life. It has to be a day-to-day process in your life not saying that I have faith. Faith releases the work of God in our lives every day. When we exercise faith constantly Paul says the life of Christ will come into us and there will be a resting place in us. Paul says the starting point of understanding God's law is constantly using faith, Words of Faith as an action, and living in faith, living in an atmosphere of faith, and living in the realms of faith.

Verse 17 says by constantly using our faith, the life of Christ gets released really deep inside us and the love of God rests on the Life of Christ that is inside us and that union becomes the very source and the root of our lives. In other words, if we do not use faith constantly, and if Christ's life is not inside us, Love is not released in us, and we will come to an experience where we will feel that the love of God is stagnant in our life and that will produce all unwanted emotions and the source of our lives will get shifted.

When we enter into this realm of Christian Life, it is no longer us, but we shall live in the realm of God's beautiful love. On one side, we will keep on experiencing Jesus's love. On the other side, our love for Jesus will increase, increase. It is a continuous process every day because his love becomes the source of our life.

Moving in the Love of Lord Jesus Christ

a) Hoping in the Word of God

And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us!

Romans 5:5 (TPT)

Paul gives us a practical explanation of how to move in the Love of Christ. Here the verse says that the hope in God does not disappoint us. The hope we receive through God's living, active and powerful word will never disappoint us. This Hope is not a fantasy, because our God is not a story, He is real. And through this Hope, that is, through a perfect and consistent relationship with the Word of God, we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts. The Holy Spirit who lives inside us makes it all happen. We all want to receive miracles, but miracles should not be the measurement of Christ’s love in us. The measurement of Christ’s love in us should be the union that we have with Jesus Christ and the Word of God through the Holy Spirit.

b) Hoping on the Cross of the Lord Jesus Christ

For when the time was right, the Anointed One came and died to demonstrate his love for sinners who were entirely helpless, weak, and powerless to save themselves.

Romans 5:6 (TPT)

It is true that we on our own, are helpless and powerless to save ourselves. That is where Christ demonstrated His love for us and saved us. And now our hope is in the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament, whatever God spoke to the prophets and the leaders, it became the Word, because Christ had not manifested as a human till that time. But when it comes to the New Covenant, not only the power of hoping in the word of God is there, but there is power in the message of the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul kept on preaching that he is not concerned with anything else other than Christ and Him crucified.  cross. So, every time when we are powerless, helpless, and weak, immediately our focus should be fixed on the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ. There has a divine exchange that happened on the cross. The cross has taken our shame, guilt, condemnation, sins, and everything that has the potential to pull us far away from God and has released us into the endless Love of God. The Communion that we take on the Lord’s Day is the major attestation to this exchange. Now we have a choice, to live in our past condemnation or to accept the free exchange that was done on the cross for us.

Hoping on the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ, He has made us righteous and has filled us with triumphant Joy.

i) We are made righteous

And there is still much more to say of his unfailing love for us! For through the blood of Jesus, we have heard the powerful declaration, “You are now righteous in my sight.” And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you will never experience the wrath of God.

Romans 5:9 (TPT)

Verse 9 says that because of this never-failing endless love, we have heard the powerful declaration from God, “You are now righteous in my sight.” And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, we will never experience the wrath of God. This is the power of the Christian faith. Bible does not ask for any rites or rituals but it says, because of the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ, we will never ever experience the wrath of God. On the basis of our faith, not living under past condemnations, not saying that we are unrighteous, but living and looking at the cross for a beautiful life in Jesus, and the endless love of God will be constantly released into our lives.

ii) We overflow with Triumphant Joy

And even more than that, we overflow with triumphant joy in our new relationship of living reconciled to God—all because of Jesus Christ!

Romans 5:11 (TPT)

When we start believing on the cross, we overflow with triumph and joy because of our new relationship of living reconciled to God—through Jesus Christ. This relationship releases the endless love of Christ Jesus inside of us.

The Promises in God’s Love

Then the women said to Naomi, “Blessed be the Lord, who has not left you this day without a close relative; and may his name be famous in Israel! And may he be to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age; for your daughter-in-law, who loves you, who is better to you than seven sons, has borne him.”

Ruth 4:14-15 (NKJV)

Whenever God’s love gets manifested in our lives, it comes with a promise.

a) A promise of restoration

b) A promise of nourishment.

There will be a restoration in all the areas of our life. In the realm of Spirit, soul, and body restoration will be there. Not only restoration, but the Word of God also says that the love of God will nourish us. Nourishing means supplying everything that we need to sustain ourselves. By having triumphant joy in the life union with Lord Jesus Christ, we can experience both of them, because the love of God is transcending our lives. Our God is a God of restoration. He is a God who will nourish us and sustain us and a God who will continuously love us.

Concluding Prayer

Lord Jesus, your love is the greatest of all. We pray and hope in the powerful Word of God. And we thank you for your Cross that has made us righteous and which has filled our lives with triumphant joy. Today we pray that we want to experience this unfailing endless love that will restore us and nourish us and pamper us. We need you more. Manifest your love into our hearts.

In Jesus’ Name

Amen.
