Introduction
There is beauty when we have a relationship with Lord Jesus Christ. All the promises written in the Bible are open in our life, valid in our life, and will happen in our life because God is never a man who will lie. In any problem we face, there is a promise for our problem in the Word of God.
There is no book in the whole world that has solutions for all the problems of human mankind except the Holy Bible, the living Word of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is a very beautiful book full of the promises of the Almighty God
Bible says the promises of God are great and highly valuable. God's promises do not base themselves on the wisdom of mankind. God's promises are based on the divine ability and the divine wisdom of the Almighty God. God's promises are highly valuable too. Because we are precious in God’s sight as He has purchased us by the blood of His one and only son.
And the greatest promise that we have ever received from God is the promise of the precious Holy Spirit, who is God’s Spirit himself, and who has the power to change us, transform us, and make us like Jesus Christ himself.
These promises that God releases in our lives generate supernatural faith in us, which brings Glory
Promise generates Faith
The promise of God generates Faith in our lives, which brings the Glory of God into our lives.
He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
Romans 4: 20-22
Here we see Bible talking about being righteous by believing in the gift of the Holy Spirit, or the promise of the Holy Spirit. Now, the Bible says, we need to believe in that promise. When we believe in the promise of God, He will count it to us as righteousness. Having a Christian background cannot make us righteous. But the moment there is a promise of God released into our lives, we believe and hold on to it. The Bible says it is credited as righteousness. That is the revelation of true righteousness, power, and understanding of the Holy Spirit.
The greatest promise that we have received from God is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus into our lives, it releases the true revelation of righteousness, holiness, and the wisdom of the Almighty God, and that is why we need the Holy Spirit on a more intimate level. Now there are reasons why God gave us the Holy Spirit as the greatest Promise. When we dive deeper into the Word of God, we realize that primarily:
A. Holy Spirit releases a Blessing of Relationship with God
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore, you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Galatians 4: 6-7
The Holy Spirit was given to us by God primarily was given to us so that we would have a wonderful relationship. In the old covenant, people never called God as the Father. But when it came to the new covenant, the Bible says there is a relationship called Father and Children. We can be anyone in our lives, but one of the major things that we as human beings need in our lives is relationships. And no one can give us the wonderful and the perfect and the permanent relationship than the Holy Spirit who has been sent to us. And the Holy Spirit has revealed God the Father in heaven, the great Almighty God as our Father, by establishing a beautiful relationship called fatherhood in our lives. Now we are no longer orphans or slaves, but we have a beautiful relationship.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name
John 1:12
We see the Holy Spirit has revealed this wonderful relationship of Fatherhood into our lives. There is no greater love than Jesus Christ laying down his life for us so that we can receive the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is the greatest promise that Lord Jesus Christ has given so that there will be a relationship.
Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.”
John 21:5
When Jesus was in this world, He manifested the fatherhood of God to His disciples. He was releasing that wonderful relationship. When the disciples backslid and went their way to their old profession, Jesus did not come there as an annoyed leader and scolded them, but instead, Jesus understood them as a Father and He gave them 153 kinds of fish making their effort fruitful, and then He said to Peter, receive the Holy Spirit. Because Jesus understood that without the Holy Spirit, the disciples will fail. This is Jesus manifesting the heart of Father God, by sealing us into a wonderful relationship with the Holy Spirit.
B. Holy Spirit releases Faith according to the promise given to us which brings Glory
He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
Galatians 3:14
The Holy Spirit makes the relationship with God real to us. So when we have the promise that we are God's child, then our faith works according to the proposition that we are God's child. The realization that God is our father and we are in a relationship with God comes into our hearts, our faith works according to like a son and not a slave. When our relationship with God is a father-son, father-daughter relationship, our faith works according to it. And so, it becomes very easy for us to experience miracles. Our faith is working according to the relationship. Our faith is working according to the promise that we receive. The Word of God in Galatians 3: 14 says that the blessings of Abraham will come on us by the Holy Spirit. The church should value the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues, and worshipping God in Spirit and truth, so that the blessings of Abraham will come upon us.
a) All curses will be gone
‘I will make you a great nation; I will bless you’
Genesis 12:2(a)
When God says that through the Holy Spirit, we all can redeem the blessing given to Abraham, the blessings that were given to Abraham were, as Genesis 12:2 says, ‘I will make you a great nation; I will bless you’, and so all the curses that will be on us will be gone once and for all. Sin has brought curses into our lives. Curses are problems that could be generational, repetitive, or uncommon problems. Holy Spirit will work in our lives and our relationship with God will change which will increase supernatural faith in our lives and this same Holy Spirit will release the blessings of Abraham into us.
b) Holy Spirit will make us a Blessing to others
And you shall be a blessing.
Genesis 12:2(b)
Abraham was an idol worshipper. He was not a Jewish person. God calls this Abraham and said, ‘I will make you a blessing to others.’ And we are receiving the blessings given to Abraham. Likewise, when this Holy Spirit comes into our lives, the Holy Spirit himself will make us a blessing to not only the people who are with us, we will be a blessing to the whole nation.
c) We will have a God-kind of Faith
The greatest blessing that Abraham had was that he had a God-kind of Faith. When the Holy Spirit shall come upon us, that is the promise of God, it will release God-kind of faith and that will release God’s glory in our life. We will start believing the unbelievable and the unthinkable.
C. Holy Spirit releases Life
When the Holy Spirit comes into us, we receive life in our mortal bodies that frees us from the sickness that had crept into us, and also we receive life into our souls to defeat the lies of the devil.
‘But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.’
Romans 8:11
‘For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.’
2 Corinthians 3:6
The Holy Spirit is released upon us because the Holy Spirit releases life. We need life in our mortal bodies because sickness has crept into our mortal bodies. The Bible promises us that when the Holy Spirit shall come upon us, there will be a release of life. God never wants us to continue as sick people. That is not God's will. That is the plan of the devil. This body is decaying or this body can lose strength over the years. But when the Holy Spirit shall come upon us, life will be released into us and we will have a spirit-filled long life. When the Holy Spirit comes upon us, we are marked, selected, elected, ordained, and appointed by the Almighty God.
‘There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.’
Romans 8:1
When the life of the Holy Spirit comes, there will be no more guilty feelings and condemnation for those who are walking according to the Holy Spirit, because the Bible says that when this life-giving spirit comes upon us, all our condemnations will go away. But we need to walk according to the spirit.
‘For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.’
Romans 8:2
And also, when the spirit of life in Christ Jesus comes into us, we will be set free from the power of sin and death. When you have the life-giving spirit inside us sin will have no power to conquer us. Every old temptation and habit will have no hold on our habits anymore. The Holy Spirit’s life-giving power will break the power of death in our life. Every fear of untimely deaths and fear of accidents will leave our life. Because we have the promise of God, and having faith and walking in the Glory of God, no weapon formed against us will prosper. The disciples of Jesus, the apostles in the Acts of the Apostles, weren’t afraid of death, because they knew that nothing will happen to them before the appointed time. This is the wonderful promise of the Holy Spirit that releases faith into our lives and that releases the Glory of God into our lives.
Concluding Prayer
Dear Abba Father, we pray that you will allow us to have an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit which will reveal your Fatherhood more intimately to us, and we will be free from the spirit of orphans, we will be able to redeem the Abrahamic blessings through Faith in the promise that you have given us, we will have life and life in abundance, and through the anointing of the Holy Spirit, every power of condemnation, guilt, and sin will loosen the grip from our lives.
In Jesus Name,
Amen.
